Going from a Few Words to a Whole Painting

Hello! You are receiving this e-mail because you are on my mailing list. Thank you for allowing me to share my upcoming news and events. I have a lot of great things on the go all at once. I finished a new series called Tranquility Blue which I painted in a limited colour palette of blue and white acrylic paint with oil sticks. I began the paintings by writing thoughts or words that came into my mind onto the canvas. I was not concerned if those words might later become covered up partially with paint, it was the process that was important to me. In this series I explored the gestural expressive wide brush marks with phthalo blue acrylic paint on my canvas. The rest of the paintings were built around the initial large brush marks, in a manner that was not over conceptualized. The paintings really are all about following impulses and intuition, and not allowing myself to overthink the painting process. The Tranquility Blue series is now up on my website if you would now like to have a look. www.sherylsiddiqui.com

Everything went well even though our ship the Norwegian Breakaway is a massive ship we had no serious issues other than inconvenient disorganization. It did cost us $50.00 US per person to get covid testing 48 hours prior to boarding. Although testing all passengers is necessary, I don’t think I...
